NEW EVOLUTION KNIVES IN 2006

Orangeburg, NY: February 2006 - After successfully introducing the revolutionary EVOlution Swiss Army Knife at last year.s SHOT Show, Wenger arrives at the 2006 SHOT Show with the new EVOlution "S" Series, featuring safety-enhancing locking blades. Tools new to the EVOlution collection include a universal wrench and adjustable pliers. Wenger is also introducing color to the EVOlution line with the addition of three new hues to the existing EVOlution 81 knife.

"We've taken a proven success story in the Evolution collection and enhanced it by adding our popular locking system to 6 new models," said Dennis Piretra, Director of Marketing, Wenger N.A. "The thinking behind Evolution was that by applying ergonomics to our knives they.d naturally be safer because the shape improves grip. So the combination of the Evolution platform and locking blades, which greatly decrease the likelihood of accidental closure, was a natural progression in our product development."

Based on the success of EVOlution's ergonomic handle, the first design change to a Swiss Army Knife in nearly a century, Wenger has gone one step further in 2006 by offering a 2.5" locking blade which snaps safely into place. Additionally, the blade stops at a 115º angle so the user can clear his or her hand before fully closing.

The "S" Series keeps the traditional tools Swiss Army Knife aficionados come to expect from Wenger like a screwdriver, scissors, a double cut wood saw, corkscrew, nail file, and reamer, among others. The new S557 has 19 functions including adjustable pliers with wire crimper and cutter and a universal wrench while the new S52 receives adjustable pliers with crimper and cutter. The already popular EVOlution 81 received the first-ever color upgrade and now comes in translucent red, bold black, and bright blue.
