February 24, 2010 — Wenger, Maker of the Genuine Swiss Army Knife, and Established Brands International today announced plans to open its first United States retail store, to be located on iconic Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. The 3,000-square foot retail shop, scheduled to open in April, 2010 will be situated in the heart of Boulder’s historic downtown district.
The new retail store, conceived and managed by Wenger Footwear licensee Established Brands International, will be designed in a vintage, natural environment, to reflect one of the most highly recognized outdoor brands in the world in one of the most outdoor-centric locations within the United States. The (#1122) Pearl Street site will be the first retail outlet in the U.S. to house Wenger’s entire global family of products and will serve as a key facility to launch new product lines, such as Wenger’s highly anticipated Fall 2010 Footwear Line that is expected to hit stores in August. The Wenger store will provide visitors the opportunity to experience the entire line of the Company’s legendary Swiss Army knives, watches, footwear, luggage, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags and technical packs.
“Boulder provides a sense of authenticity for all things and activities pertaining to the outdoors,” said Ron Page, CEO Established Brands International. "It’s a perfect fit for us. We’re extremely excited to showcase the breadth of Wenger product under one roof. But at the same time, we’re also very pleased that consumers will experience firsthand the history and tradition of the legendary Wenger brand."
The new Wenger store will also feature a showroom, where members of the Wenger family can bring key retailers and other special guests, and introduce them to the Company’s latest products. The store will enable consumers to access and experience ‘all things that are Wenger’, and serve as a retail lab for product testing and consumer focus groups. Every facet of the store, from the authentic design to one of the premier outdoor locations in America, speaks to Wenger’s vision to be the preferred active outdoor brand delivering genuine Swiss Army Knife solutions.
“The Wenger brand empowers adventurers with multi-functional equipment possessing a unique pedigree – The Swiss Army Knife. We also seek to reflect the more humble attitudes and the true spirit of active dynamic individuals who appreciate the beauty of the great outdoors through human and natural-powered activities,” stated Peter Hug, CEO of Wenger. “The new Wenger Store will help us accomplish these goals.”

With a spectacular view of the Flatirons, Wenger will also open its doors to the community and provide the venue as a local meeting place for associations and athletic groups, as well as hosting its brand ambassadors, art exhibits, special guest speakers and those looking to share in the outdoor experience.
