Any athlete knows that when it comes to sport, the mental component is just as important as the physical. In the visually stunning short by Antimedia, “Blink of an Eye”, Norweigan ski racer Aksel Lund Svindal shows us what it takes to push through the mental blocks.
In a 2007 race at Beaver Creek, Colorado, Svindal experienced a dehabilitating crash, which kept him off skis for an entire year– not easy for someone who has lived, breathed and slept skiing since the ripe age of 3. The video follows Aksel as he confronts the race course once again– this time, with a vengeance.
While the story is captivating enough, the production quality of this video is what really makes it stand out. If you’ve ever wanted to know what it REALLY feels like to be a top alpine skier, you need to watch this.
