NeverWet might quite possibly be the perfect intersection of technology and survival. The substance is stored in a spray can and is sprayed like paint, onto whatever surface you want to waterproof. Supposedly the only downside is the unknown environmental effects since the spray appears to come off pretty easily when on a kayak paddle.
It was first made popular by a viral video that shows how it can keep a sprayed phone from getting wet, even when dropped in a bowl of water. This video shows how the product can eliminate that annoying drop when lifting a paddle from one side of a kayak to the other.
